London, Sir Richard Phillips and Co., 1820, First edition, 8vo [22 x 13.5 cm]; iv, 122 pp, 4 plates including engraved frontis of Ali Pacha Vizier of Janana, later cloth with title lettering on spine label, minor corner wear, small tear at lower margin of title page, interior is clean and near fine.
Based on a five volume work, that had not been completed yet, this work provides details and descriptions collected by the author during the ten years he acted as consul general for France to the court of Aly Pasha of Janina, which allowed him free travel in the area under the protection of the ruler of the country, most of which had been unreported to that time. The publisher suggests that this work could be used a travel guide to the area. Northern Greece.

A detailed travel guide to all places, cities, towns, places including those areas gained in six day's war, with much on history, archaeology, people, etc. The first edition was 1955, each update providing a picture of the country at that time.
